Arrest History in Forest County
Forest County arrest records are agency-first. The Pennsylvania State Police records-request hub is the main route for reports from ordinary patrol and investigative work. The Forest County Sheriff's Office keeps records made through its own enforcement, warrant, service, or custody-transfer work. DCNR rangers, Game Commission officers, Fish and Boat Commission officers, and federal officers may also make arrests tied to public lands or resource laws.
An arrest can produce several records, but it does not establish guilt. The officer's report states the alleged conduct. A criminal complaint starts the court trail. A receiving facility records intake and custody facts. Fingerprints and arrest data may later anchor a cycle in the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository. Each part has its own custodian, release rules, and update pace.
The official Forest County Sheriff's Office page shows the local contact block used for sheriff-created arrest records.
Its limited service menu is important: the office does not advertise an arrest database, jail roster, report form, or dedicated records desk.
No Forest County Arrest Booking Log
Forest County publishes no official online jail roster, recent-arrest feed, booking log, mugshot archive, or county detention facility. That gap is not a signal that no arrest occurred. It means the receiving facility must be identified before a custody search can begin. Call the arresting agency or the Sheriff's Office, ask where the person was taken, and then use only that facility's official roster or phone channel.
For custody changes, the Commonwealth's PA SAVIN service offers free notices by phone, text, email, or app across participating county jails, state prisons, and state parole.
PA SAVIN supplements the facility check with alerts for events such as release, transfer, movement, or escape; it is not the underlying arrest report.
How to Look Up Forest County Arrests
No county database leads this search, so use the fallback chain in the order the records are created. Names alone can produce a false match. Add the date, place, arresting agency, complaint or incident number, OTN, and approximate booking time whenever those facts are known.
- Identify the arresting agency and call it. If the agency is unclear, call the Forest County Sheriff's Office and the relevant PSP coverage station, then ask which facility received the person.
- Check the receiving jail's official channel. Use PA SAVIN for custody notices, or the PA DOC locator only after a person enters state custody or parole supervision.
- Search the UJS Public Web Docket Sheets at both Magisterial District and Common Pleas levels. Filter to Forest County, use a narrow date range, and compare the OTN, agency, birth details, and disposition.
- For Pennsylvania repository history, use PATCH. A person reviewing their own complete state record, including non-convictions, should use PSP's mail-only SP 4-170 Access and Review process instead.
- Request the source report from the creating agency. Contact the sheriff by phone or at its counter for sheriff records, use PSP's request channel for PSP records, or submit a focused county Right-to-Know request for a county-held record.
For a Forest County court record that has moved beyond the lower court, the criminal court case file supplies the filed charges, events, and result.
Four Forest County Arrest Custodians
One Forest County arrest can create four distinct files. The arresting officer writes an incident or arrest report. The Magisterial District Court receives the complaint and affidavit. A receiving jail handles intake, property, screening, fingerprints, charge entry, bond, and release or transfer. PSP links qualifying fingerprint data to its Central Repository, while courts later report dispositions back to the arrest cycle.
The practical record flow is: arresting agency → receiving facility → Magisterial District Court or Common Pleas → PSP Central Repository. The arrows do not mean each office holds the full file. Ask the agency for its report, the jail for custody facts, the court for the prosecution docket, and PSP for the repository product.
Note: A recent Forest County arrest may reach a jail before its complaint appears in the public court search.
What an Arrest Record Shows
A releasable Forest County arrest or booking record may carry the fields below. Actual disclosure depends on the custodian and record status. Victim data, juvenile information, medical details, confidential sources, and active investigative material may be withheld or redacted. A photograph is an intake identifier, not evidence of conviction, and Forest County has no public mugshot database.
| Identity and number | Name or aliases, age or date of birth, complaint or incident number, OTN, and fingerprint transaction identifiers where maintained. |
|---|---|
| Arrest date and place | The recorded date, time, and location of custody, along with the arresting agency and officer. |
| Alleged charges | Statute, subsection, charge text, grade, and whether the arrest followed a warrant or occurred without one. |
| Booking details | Receiving facility, intake time, identity check, property entry, fingerprints, and other releasable processing facts. |
| Bail and next event | Custody status, bail type or amount where public, Magisterial District Judge, and scheduled court event. |
| Photo policy | Any image is subject to investigative and access limits; no official Forest County arrest gallery is published. |
| Release or transfer | The recorded release or transfer date and destination when the custodian makes those details public. |
Find Jail After Forest County Arrests
When an arrest occurs near Tionesta, Marienville, or elsewhere in Forest County, do not assume a county jail name. The official county site identifies no local detention facility. Confirm the destination with PSP, the arresting resource agency, or the sheriff. Once the facility is known, follow that jail's own rules for its roster, phone access, visits, mail, and deposits. None of those terms can be stated accurately until the actual facility is known.
State-sentenced people and state parolees use the PA DOC Inmate/Parolee Locator, which updates daily but excludes county-jail custody. Federal custody is a separate layer. The official Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator covers federal prisoners in its searchable data.
The federal locator does not replace Forest County arrest, jail, UJS, PATCH, or PA DOC searches; it answers only the federal-custody question.
Recent Arrests and Booking Logs
A recent Forest County arrest is best traced through the agency and court, not a feed. Search the UJS Magisterial District criminal docket by participant and a narrow filing period. A new complaint may not appear at once. If charges are held or waived, repeat the search at the Court of Common Pleas level and compare the OTN or originating docket.
The public UJS docket can identify the arresting agency, officer, complaint number, alleged counts, bail entries, court dates, and later dispositions when those fields are public. It is not a booking log and does not show the complete police narrative. PAeDocket offers an official mobile route to the same practical case data, with searches by participant, OTN, case number, police incident or complaint number, and SID.
A juvenile arrest will not appear in public UJS delinquency results. Sealed, expunged, pending-expungement, and Clean Slate limited-access matters are also excluded. An empty search can reflect timing, spelling, a restricted record, or a matter that never became a filed prosecution.
How Forest County Arrests Reach PATCH
For a fingerprintable Forest County offense, fingerprints and identifying data help PSP create the Central Repository arrest cycle. Courts and criminal-justice agencies later send the result so the arrest and disposition can be paired. OTN means Offense Tracking Number. It is one of the best links between the police event, docket, and repository record. A delay or unmatched disposition can leave the state history incomplete.
PATCH is a paid public name-based product for Pennsylvania law-enforcement data, not a copy of every police report or court filing. It can return No Record or Request Under Review. Neither response settles what happened in every Forest County office. For self-review, SP 4-170 Access and Review is the fuller Pennsylvania route. A court corrects its own docket; PSP handles a challenge to repository data under the personal review process.
For a program-authorized FBI fingerprint check, Pennsylvania uses the IdentoGO enrollment and location finder.
IdentoGO requires the proper service code and pre-registration; it is not a public Forest County arrest lookup or county booking search.
Resource Officers Make Forest County Arrests
Forest County's public-land setting makes agency identification vital. A DCNR ranger keeps a DCNR enforcement report. A Pennsylvania Game Commission officer routes the agency report through the Commission, while a Fish and Boat Commission officer uses that agency's records channel. State or federal officers may create still other files. The related Pennsylvania court complaint can still appear through UJS, but the courthouse cannot produce a report held only by another agency.
Use the arresting-agency field on the docket when the paperwork is missing. Then ask the named agency for the precise incident or enforcement report and a releasable version of any active file. Avoid a broad demand for an entire investigation. Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law exempts criminal investigative records under Section 708(b)(16), though that does not make every agency policy, blotter fact, or noninvestigative record secret.
County-held requests can begin at the Forest County Open Records Office. Law-enforcement audio or video follows Pennsylvania Act 22 rather than the ordinary RTKL appeal route.
Arrests vs Convictions
A Forest County arrest record documents that an agency took a person into custody on an allegation. A conviction appears only when a court enters guilt on a specific count. Charges can change between the police complaint, the District Attorney's information, and the final judgment. Read each disposition row instead of repeating the arrest charge as the outcome.
| Point | Arrest Record | Conviction Record |
|---|---|---|
| Created by | Arresting agency and receiving facility | Magisterial District Court or Court of Common Pleas |
| What it establishes | An arrest or booking was recorded | A court found guilt on the stated count |
| Where to look | Creating agency, facility, or custody channel | UJS docket, Clerk of Courts, and reported PSP history |
| Possible next result | Release, no filed charge, amended charge, or transfer | Sentence, appeal, pardon, expungement, or limited access where authorized |
A sentence of probation belongs to the later court record. The Forest County probation page also links the regional treatment court resources used within the shared judicial district.
That office's role begins with court work such as presentence information and supervision, not with creating the original Forest County arrest entry.
Note: An arrest is not proof of guilt, and the final disposition may be dismissal, acquittal, withdrawal, or a changed charge.
